Letecia Stauch was found guilty on Monday of murdering her 11-year-old stepson Gannon Stauch and disposing of his body in a suitcase in January 2020. 

Prosecutors told the jury that Letecia Stauch stabbed Gannon first before stuffing his lifeless body into a suitcase and placing it in her car.

A psychologist reported that Letecia admitted to shooting Gannon but claimed she mistook him for a man wearing a black cape. 

Google searches revealed her hatred for the little boy and showed that she wanted him gone.

The trial is scheduled to begin on Monday at El Paso County District Court, where jury selection will take place.
